  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

'13 TE 310 long term ....

I have not updated this thread as had a year and a half of health issues and then fires and floods closing our access locally. In any case was able to get out today, as we now have some access again. The 310 still runs like a champ. Only a few changes. A year and a half ago Ty rebuilt the engine as I had developed a head gasket leak evident by losing coolant. I am back running mousses as I just prefer not to stress flats. Nitro Mousses and Scorpion Pros (much better fit than my last combo). They feel great front end seems to steer through the rubble nicely. Running the red ZipTy coolant and other than that, cooling fan seems to be working now and bike reliably starts up right away on a 2+ yo EarthX or a kick.

"Zip Ty 2nd Gen Recirculation kit allows one to clean up the hose configuration from under the sump. I used zip ties on the hose and copper washers with great results. I mark the bolt head for quick visual checks. Hyde skid plate. Works well, great coverage. A little more fidgety to install but negates any rattling like stock. 7602 14mm. sump drain plug is much more solid in use than the alllen head that is stock and will crater.

Hi... Why this modification? This eliminate the tube since the top of the chasis to the back/bottom part of engine?
What about the filter in this part?

So how many miles/hours are you up-to now?

I just picked up a 2013 TE 310 from another member here on Cafe Husky just two weeks ago. Going though some past threads and he also did the Zip Ty mod. Looking forward to getting to know this baby red head.
