  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

13 310R was running great ....

...well, you're definitely not gonna have a problem disabling the horn button on that- I guess. OTOH, now you gotta stay off the roads when you're off-roading.

good luck.

NYCMX - i recently went through the same procedure as you (broken fuel elbow). this is a super simple one but did you clean the area thoroughly before removing fuel elbow and reinstalling? just wondering if a bit of grit or something has entered your fuel line and clogged the injector...?

LOL thanks I'm looking at this...View attachment 76317it has 6 hours on it.like new for fairly cheap $4,800. I can rebuild a top end on this. I like the way it sounds and i like the way it smells.
There are no Husky dealers down here and the 310 has been a problem since day one. I will work on it again when I get time and keep you guy's posted./quote]

Well I hope you enjoy it.
Personally I'd never touch a KTM product or a white KTM after the companies shameless raping off Husaberg and Husqvarna.
A better choice and nicer bike would be a Sherco, having ridden both the Orange monster and the Sherco I can tell you they have a much smoother engine.
Good luck with the replacement bike.

I ended up buying this 2013 150sx with 3 hours on it...the graphics got to go but it is like new. Going riding today it rained last night so conditions are perfect. I will fix the Husky one day.ktm14.jpg

That's the Bud Light-KTM/McGrath graphics, isn't it? pretty kewl. (can't say I like the beer though). congratulations.

I forgot how much fun a Two stroke is. Starts up easy light weight and rips...The 310 is more like a big trail bike. I do still have a Strada to ride on the street BTW.
Now it's time to get the girlfriend off the DRZ and onto the RM80 That's been sitting in the garage.
In the next few weeks I will work on the 310 again and if I can't straighten it out I will part it out.
The Graphics are a wrap over the stock graphics according to the P.O. Otherwise a stock 150 SX 2013 that has been ridden once or twice.

...I will work on the 310 again and if I can't straighten it out I will part it out...

wait- what? no, dude. keep trying; it's gotta be fairly simple. when you get frustrated, take it to a dealer and spend the $80-$150 and get it fixed.

There's no Husky dealer's down here in my part of Florida. Just KTM and I may know my bike better then them. So I feel better now riding every day once I finish setting up the new bike I promise to take another shot at the 310R. I was just starting to have fun on it before it decided not to run right. The Kayaba suspension is way better then the KTM's WP.

we couldn't live farther apart and still be CONUS- whether you're in FLA or NYC; gotta be 2500 miles or close to it. thanks for the vote of confidence tho.

I'm guessing that this is still related to your removal of the starter or horn button... or the fuel elbow fix. Hey, are you sure your TPS is plugged in all the way (triangle connector usually)?

LOL it's connected.BTW I moved to Florida as there was no place to ride in NYC anymore. I live right near Croom Motorcycle park.

Sorry to read about your troubles with the bike. Looking at your garage I think you have enough wrenchability to deal with it. I will be posting soon how to clean injector with presurized aparatus thats run the bike with fuel pump disconected. I will just run it for maintenance on my bike but in your case running on the EFI can would pinpoint trouble area. Basically if bike runs on the can, fuel delivery is a problem. ..

I am still waiting for some parts and do not want to take bike out of service until I can do all at once. Maybe next weekend.
You can see the can setup on my Suzuki build thread, I posted link below :

perhaps, Im having great fun on the 150 to really think about the Husky. I may keep the Kayaba suspension for my KTM....if I do part it.

I'm pretty sure it is a clogged injector........I will let you know when I get the injector back.....
