  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 125 thread

did 95km yesterday on 13 wr125. chucked 1L of fuel in to be on safe side(didn't really think id need it but just in case). didn't even hit reserve or go that close tbh so be at least 2-3 litres left(think it took around 7 litres to refill when got home)! fair bit of WFO deep sandy fireroads, gravel hillclimbs & fast singletrack between the trees so no nursing her. lectron bit richer than what it could be but not arguing with the economy or performance! rode with 2 13 berg fe350's & was neck & neck with em on the WFO stuff provided it was a rolling start & I kept feeding her gears. lose out a bit on the changes but near on flat changes take care of that!:o obviously the point & shoot riding I had to work harder but keep in mind both blokes I was riding with were 20-30kgs lighter than me & my tyres are rooted. no dramas keeping on their back tyres in tight stuff.

ahh good times.

poor little bike just keeps coming back for more. what are rough ideas bottom end wise on the 125 motors being reasonably well punished?

Max Power did a 139 kit on my husky 125. What shocked me is that they did not port the cylinder what so ever. Stock porting. All they do is bore it, plate it, cut the powervalves and head.

The Yamaha add says Port, maybe that's limited to grinding a radius on the ports at the cyl. I'll ask them to specify before I send them anything.

How did you like the 139?

I'm plenty happy with my little bike but i'm begining to become concerned about parts availability in the future. I was considering switching to yammie but I'm praying that ktm applies the tech they used on the 125 & 150 2t
motors to the 200 and it ends up in a ~200lb husky

even with your big butt on it ?

so you putting the 165 kit back on then ?

^yup with my 104kg plus gear(need to get back under 100kg!). bit more commitment on my behalf & would've smoked em but im a girl in the corners!:D

yeah been punishing the 125 pretty hard last couple weeks & got another 4 hour+ race on Saturday so be 20+ hours on 125 top end. good enough excuse to go back to 165. miss that bit more bottom end in tight stuff. old mate was chasing a 144 kit did he pm ya?

Just changed my tranny fluid and it looked like a strawberry shake? Radiator level is normal, what's up?

been riding through creeks? crank breather hang down under frame still? if so that's ya issue. if not it doesn't take much water to 'shakeify' oil. enough that you mighten even notice the rad level has dropped.

His daughter his racing in the MX nationals - needs a bit more poke for the sand at Coolum

You my friend need to get the 177 mods :D

That's what I d be saving for

Worst case your water pump seal is going, best case you just sucked in some water through the breather as Shawbagga said.

Another option is to burn or drill a small hole in the vent hose near the fitting at the trans, then it won't siphon. Same goes for the carb hoses.

125's ahh i miss them good little rippers and considering your so big shawry (hes like a full adult you know where i wear childs size clothes..). Its put up with a lot of abuse so go 125.
Have fun on the race this weekend.
