• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

'11TC449 - EFI Choke turns, but why?

3boys4dogs

Husqvarna
AA Class
The choke on the bike turns (it does pull out also) and actually clicks, at what seems like, different positions. Can anyone let me know what this is? It starts fine, just wanting to know.

Thanks,
Ray

From the manual, it's called a starter knob. Used for cold starts. Sounds like a choke. The diagram on the right.

I'll ask my dealer. The first time I rented the tc449 I was told not to play with that. I forget what it was though

Not sure about the 449, but on a new 310 (Kleihn FI too) it adjusts Idle speed (by turning it).

From standard on a 310 it is 34 clicks out (screw all way in first).

My guess is its the same for the 449 ?

The TC has the idle adjustment built into the choke knob. It's in the manual . . .

I had to look it up in my manual. Here is what my manual says about idle adjustment. The screw is there like it says. I had to double check and make sure I didn't have a carb!!

Wow worked on the bike today. I'm such a noob I never read the manual front to back and didn't realize there was a cold start button. Used it to start the bike with the procedure in the manual and tada bike fired right up. It idled high until I pushed the choke back in but it fired in about two cranks. I do still have a problem with it not firing after a bit of a ride. Stop for a break and I have to crank it for awhile to get it to start. Going to a little tuneup this weekend oil change check the plug hope its not too fouled and new coolant. Does anyone use water wetter in there bikes I've never used it yet but used it in my rapter in the summer? Always lovin the site so much to read and so many people that are willing to help you****************************************!
