  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc '11 WR 300 aftermarket shifter options...I need a new shifter

Brian Scott

Husqvarna
AA Class
Nailed a stump hard yesterday and deformed the oem shifter. Luckily I was is second gear when this little mishap was over so I could make it back to base. Who manufacturers or sells aftermarket shifters for the WR 250/300s? I'm not interested in buying an overpriced oem pot metal replacement that has been troublesome from the get go.
Thanks!

Check ebay for an RFX shifter imported from the UK. I put one on my bike, it's a very good quality item.

How about one for a big-footed monster like myself? Had a Hammerhead extended shifter on my old bike, do any of the above mentioned come in longer lengths than the OEM?

I have the MSR one on my 2012. I jacked it up racing on Saturday and the tip was twisted completely upright. I bent it back down with my foot and it hasnt cracked or snapped. Still working.

I put a Driven shifter with a Hammerhead +20mm tip on my WR250 to make room for my size 14 boots. I posted a thread with pictures about a year ago. You might be able to do a search and dig it up.

any jap bike one will work for the most part, might have to "adjust" it in a bench vise slightly but the shaft splines and bolt are the same. i have a drz shifter on mine, had it laying around and it worked out good. close to the case but not hitting!!

Hey zilly! Yeah that was me on the 300 and my buddy Travis on the WR 250. I likely cant make it this year unfortunately. Next year hopefully. Good luck if you go and let us know how you do.

Got a driven shifter from motosportz. Ordered on friday and received on Saturday! Thanks Mike!

I couldn't make it this year. Family obligations.
Too bad, I always look forward to a chance to humble myself!

Next year.

My buddies all brought their little guys over there to race and they had a great time.
