• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Well it is almost here the last round of the AMA National Hare and Hound
PLUS 3 Bros Husky will be hosting a Husky demo day more info at www.district37ama.org in the off road section

Come on people here is your chance to ride a new Husky and then race the best race of the year.
I personally have worked on all 4 loops there for will not race it.Looks like i should get # 2 for next year anyway.
Since the pro class and alot of the other classes have already figured out the #1 racers. We had a club meeting to talk about making this National more like a good old Desert race.So forget about all the stories of the TUFF National for this race .If you can ride you will have no problem on
loop 1 or loop 2 .Loop 3 is really not that hard and i even rode loop 4 with a 5 gallon paint bucket full of cource marking and stakes straped to the front of my 510.
loop 1 15 miles
loop 2 25 miles
loop 3 40 miles
loop 4 15 miles

If you ever thought of doing a desert race this is the one to start with. Plus you are all asking to test ride the new Husky so here is your chance

John the 100s race is usually on my agenda, this year is a no-go. Tecate GP on 22OCT and Tecate HS on 3 DEC are my race budget events for this year. Anyone else thinking of doing a dez race or anotherdez race needs to be here, the 100's MC events are epic. R

Robert i understand Lots of great races out there BUT for the rest of the Husky fans Here is your chance to get a test ride. I read alot here that Husky needs to do a Demo Day well now is your chance

My sister will be out there, hopefully, early on saturday to partake in the Pro ride along and then test out some bikes afterwards. We tried out the KTM's at the last race, but didn't get to try the new 350. I'm exicited to try the new TXC310. The race sounds fun and should be a good way to round out our first year of D37 racing. Looking forward to a good race and fun weekend.

Go to www.district37ama.org Message board They can not stop talking about how great it was. We had 297 racers take the start and not one complaint yet. The ambulance and helicopter never moved all day.
Not to many DNF either

Great news no injuries (thats the best news considering the racing carnage of late) and low number of DNFs.
Cant wait for the promoto.tv video!

Got a pretty decent start and was able to find a nice line with clean air for most of the bomb. Discoverd that I was too far left so cut back to the right to make it between the banners. Was probably top 20 by that point. Most of the first loop was in a dust cloud and about 5 miles to the pits my fanny pack started to fall down and just kept getting worse. Made it to the pits and tightened it up and took off again. I think I was 6th at the end of loop 1.

Started off loop 2 with a slow speed crash in a sand wash. Got up and took off again. Lots of tech hill climbs in loop 2 with rocks. Liked it a lot. The last half of the loop was fast and choppy. Got stuck behind some slower riders that wouldn't move out of the way, but got around them and charged forward. Finished loop 2 in 7th place.

Got some fuel and took off on loop 3. I liked loop 3 a lot. Lots of fast paced riding on the desert floor. A couple of nasty up hills and a bad ridgeline with a rocky downhill. After that it opened up to fast pace rock sections. I ended up 6th place and enjoyed the course a lot. Good job John and 100's MC.

Oh and got to ride the new TXC250 and I thought it was pretty peppy, but you had to be in the right gear. Unfortunately they didn't have the TXC310 out there to try out. The TXC449 was a lot of fun to ride also, but would take some getting used to. Whatever direction you pointed it it was going that way. I hate to say this but the KTM 350 was really nice. Good power and light weight. Just a little bit small for me.

I tried to make loop 2 so everyone would like it from beg to ex and quads to.Made the first 10 mile some what slow and thru new stuff. Then when most from am down would be tired opened it up for a rest. But then just when you thought it was over had to give you that last ridge climb and down hill to the finish
Loop 3 was for novice to expert and NO QUADS so we got to have a little fun.Still had to give you a few some what hard sections just so you would know it was a National. There is so much good stuff out in the loop 3 section.Already have a plan for next year.
PS I know of 3 12 year old kids who raced loop 1 and 2 as there first desert race and all 3 finished with grin ear to ear
Thanks for comming and hope to see you next year John

To bad the Husky 310 was not there as it is really a nice bike. Did you ride the WR 250 2 stroke

Yeah you did a great job on loop 2 and I'm excited to see what you guys have in store for us next year. Unfortunately no on the WR250. I didn't want to hog all the bikes.

I will tell you now that next year loop 3 will be some what like this years, but back wards.
Reason being we had to cut out alot of good stuff because we were over on mileage. So for next year we will use it and then not use some of what we used this year. There is a new trail we made that has never had a tire mark on it yet STAY TUNED 2012

That sounds awesome. Can't wait for next year.

A weird thing about the milage is that according to my Garmin all three loops totaled to 68 miles. Kinda hard to believe that it was 12 miles short or that I cut that much of the course to make it so short.
