  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

09TE310 Hard to start after stalling

09Husky310

Husqvarna
Hi,

My 2009 TE310 goes great and i love it. The only problem i have with it is it's hard to start after I've been riding for a while and then i stall it...yes i know don't stall it and it'll be fine, but seriously not sure what it is. I've tried pulling the choke to give the fuel a bit of a flush and also using the kick start, both seem to work eventually but not every time, sometimes i just wait and it seems to be ok like its flooded?

If I use the electric start and get it started it is very flat and when you throttle it's like its starved for fuel.

Any ideas?

How many miles/hours on the bike? I hate to sound like a broken record, but the first thing I would do is replace the fuel filter. I have experienced a wide range of symptoms with 3 clogged up fuel filters now, and it wouldn't surprise me for your symptoms to be caused by a partially clogged filter.

Yes, we often sound like a broken record, no worries- its usually the same stuff and we tend to focus on the problems we have faced personally or have heard of/ dealt with...
First, we think efi questions/answers and don't think of the other stuff (valves, compression, spark) cause we are fixated on efi (and for good reasons)
Things to do know at all times: condition of battery, valve clearance, fuel is fresh, air filter, condition of fuel pump set up, does fan come on like normal, did you change anything, did it "change" on its own...

If this bike is 'new to you' I'd go through everything- you don't know if its a symptom or its just poorly tuned. There are a multitude of possibilities for it running as you describe... TPS, Fueling/tuning, Valve adjust, temp sensor, fuel filter, weak spark....

hi husky 310 worth checking temp sensor bolted on back of barrel mine had similar symptons local dealer said its a common fault and worth replacing.faulty part is made in japan!
he said when hot sesor fails and engine thinks its cold then injection system dumps in more fuel so when your bike cools it starts ok
