BTW I did 70km's on one tank +750ml bottle of fuel this weekend with a lot of WOT fire roads in there. So it's not all that bad.

I THINK ALL OF THIS IS KIND OF CRAZY!! MY god, what happened to the days when husky's had decent size enduro tanks? Remember? All enduro bikes shoud come with a clear 3 to 3.2 gallon tank. I have a wr 125 09 (I'm waiting to get my suspension back from Halls) Have not got to ride it much yet, but am really concerned about tank size. I run my jetting a tish fat, to avoid melt down during extended WOT. I do not see anyone saying anything about a bigger tank option, Halls says soon?? So I can assume there is not one available. The front tank mounted where headlight is looks like it would work, but WOW for ugly and high placemet for additional weight. Is there something else?? The 2010 tank is not enough bigger to justify purchase, and if your and A rider that little bit of gas under seat and time it takes in a race would pretty much screw you. Jay Hall himself told me a fast guy can expect 25 miles to a tank. Are you guys running a 12 tooth or 13 tooth front sprocket?? Thanks. I think my 96 wr had a 3.2 gallon tank stock 2.9 at the least!!

It will be a tank that can work for WR/CR125, TC250 carbed bikes and TE/TXC250 EFI bikes. I have a P3 tank in Kevlar, Jay Hall has one in Carbon Fiber/Kevlar and it's a nice piece, but very expensive. I bought mine basically to help push along the developement of the tank, so it could eventually be molded in plastic. It doesn't feel any different than the stock tank when riding. The tank doesn't drop down on the sides as much as it could, but since the 125/250F bike numbers are relatively small... it has to fit carb and EFI bikes, so EFI fuel pump placement dictates the design.

Tank size has been dropping..... '94 WXE125-3.4 gal, '00 WR125-2.9 gal, '06 WR125-2.5, '09 WR125-1.9 gal. Then a blip..... '10 WR125-2.3 gal.! Scot Harden is working to get larger tanks standard, or at least as an option on US spec bikes in the future.

I run 13-52 0n my '09 WR125... 12T CS sprockets give me the "Willies"!

The 2010 Wr125 has a 2.35 gallon tank. We took one off the bike new and walked next door to Chevron and had them fill it to the bottom of the threads and thats exactly what the pump said.Then it also has a spot on the other side to add a second petcock to T in so you can get all the gas out of it. We did it to Bob Dees works well and also fits TC250.billf

Thanks for the info on the tank dilema. Not sure if I should get the p3 or wait for halls and see if that tank design uses more of the available lower space! How about 12 to a 48 or 49, then a guy would not need a new chain. You must need one going to a 52 tooth rear sprocket don't you? Otherwise would shorten the wheelbase by to much I would think. P3 tank looks trick, a little scared to call them about price!!

Wait for the Clarke... you'll faint when P3 gives you the price. Lindsay Pirie just built one for a racer down south, but you really have to want it! 13/52 will go on stock chain with no problem. Yes, it shortens up the wheelbase, but no ill affects to handling or stability.

I am trying the 12/50 before making a permanent rear change. I saw where most of you are running 13/52.

the 5 ltr. "lunch box" ? total no brainer. its bombproof, easy to fill, drains first (magic siphon action) dont affect handling and beats hauling 5 liters on my back. and- it's cheap! clarke's gonna hook us up soon too so...
even made a # plate for it and velcro'ed it on there...and there's even a place to carry your spare piston.

this one's been on 3 huskys now and is at least 10 years old. it's a great thing to have handy on the wall untill the aftermarket catches up with us or a buddy shows up with a tiny tank.

and, if it aint blingy enuf i guess ya could always CHROME it.

i was really curious how it affects the handling... is it attached to the steering stem or the clamps/bars? it doesn't slow the steering too badly at all, huh? do you bother with putting the fuel foam in it? or just let the gas slosh around until it's drained first?

clamps onto fork legs (see pics!). has rubbber insulators under hose clamps. takes 5 seconds to put on once it's set up. make a hose guide from stiff wire like welding rod. i went to home depot and got some pipe unions and trimmed the rubber parts to fit as they are nice and thick. slosh it not a factor, or at least i dont notice it anyways crackin' it through the trees and rocks and bunnys and tribbles and and and meeeeeeeeeep! meeeeeeeeep! meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

good info to know, though! i wonder if the NMA would let me get away with it in enduro runs? hmmm... they have some rule about not carrying extra fuel, but i don't know if it would cover something like this that would mount on the bike and be a part of the fuel system... gonna have to look into it!

I used one at the Timekeeper enduro last year on my wifes KX100, that was a long 86 miles... I think as long as you are filling your tank(s) at the approved gas stop you are fine.
