  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

'09 TE 310 street legal in Canada??

Max Corsa

Husqvarna
B Class
Hi,

Does anyone know if the '09 TE 310 (or any TE for that matter) can be plated for on-road use in Canada??

I am aware of "unofficial" ways of getting off-road bikes plated here in Ontario. But, as the '09 TE 310 is delivered, can it be plated for on-road use in Ontario?? Have these bikes been homologated by Transport Canada?

Thanks,

Max...

Hey Max Welcome,

I bought one of the first TE510s that landed in CDN last year off of

ScottR he just shipped it out to me.

I had to put signals, horn, flasher relay etc. back on it.
Oh and you must wire the back tail light so it comes on when the key is on.

The bike is not shipped to Canada with any street equip installed they
have to strip it down to get it across the border.
Then you have to get the bike inspected through the DOT. for about $125.

Well worth any hoops you gotta go through to have a "street legal"
Husky on the road.

If you get a TE off of Scott he will dress it for you.

Have these bikes been homologated by Transport Canada?

No not yet but with BMW backing them it won't be long.

Long and short answer is "no". Guys have gotten theirs plated but it definitely is a grey area. If you would like to discuss this in a non-internet forum I would be happy to discuss it with you.

I am sure this will change once BMW Canada sets up "Husqvarna Canada" for the 2010 model year.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. This confirms what I've been told. What does anyone know about 2010 Husqvarna in Canada?? What do you know about BMW Canada getting serious about this market and bringing the Husqvarna line to Canada?? Seems really lame that Canada is the only major market in the world not served properly by the Husqvarna brand....
