  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What seat do you recommend for a 09 te250. I'm looking for something soft, Im sick of a sore ass.

I don't know if you might want a taller seat but I bought a Guts tall soft seat and I really like it compared to the oak 2x4 feel the stock seat gave me. If I was going to get a regular height seat I would probably get a medium because the soft might bottom out making it worse.

I went with an XPC Racing seat on my 610. It wasn't the cheapest, but it is very comfortable. I put 1100 miles on it in 6 days and had no monkey butt. If you tell Jim that you are a member of ADV Rider he takes off 10%.

Later,

Mike

I wear these shorts when I ride my mountain bike http://bontrager.com/model/08329 the liner that comes with them is padded and really helps a lot when biking. I may start wearing just the liner under my MX pants not only for the extra padding but they are also like the compression shorts made by UnderArmor. Plus once your done riding you can change the MX pants for the outer short for the drive home.

At slowpoke, Thank you for reminding me to stand ( I do often), I was looking for a more educated response than that. I was wondering what seats work well for people.

Sorry, my response wasn't intended in a negative, or dumb way( I forgot to include an emoticon or two)I have no idea how much you stand or sit.....- reason why I also mentioned the other 2 aftermarket seat options. I know several folks that have used both & been happy with them.

Also, if it's just an issue of sitting for longer periods on easier trails & back roads, and you have enough inseam, the Airhawk auxiliary seat cushion is the most comfortable solution by far. Set up properly, it raises the seat height by about 1/2 inch, but is like riding on a cloud. It's not as good a solution for hardcore trails though.

I'll second the Seat Concepts vote. Great product and service. I also think they have a discount on ADV rider as well.
