  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

'09 SMR 510 wheels on '11 TE511???

3bravo

Husqvarna
I have just acquired a set of wheels off of a 09 smr 510. Question is...

Parts used from SMR:

-Front and rear wheels (rim, spokes, hubs, tires)

Parts keeping from TE:

-Front brake rotor and caliper
-Rear brake rotor, caliper, sprocket

Will this set-up work? If not, what are the issues going to be?

I've already searched and found someone using close to the same thing but then also have heard of possible issues. Since I have not seen anyone ask this question directly as I stated, here it is.

Thanks for any input

I could have done this....and honestly after the cost and effort/time. Not worth it when you can pickup a set of warp 9's for a VERY good price.

I am waiting for mine to show up next week or so. I doubt you would find oem smr wheels under 650-750$?

The front should go right on but the brake is not going to work.

The rear is a totally different setup you will need to make spacers/reducers etc.

The 2009 SMR & TE 511 are completely different bikes, heck, pretty much different manufacturers lol
It will take effort and time to get things to fit. I have a suspicion the front axle is different, I know the front disc mounting is different (experience with 2007 SMR & TC), caliper to disc alignment is different, etc...
I'm sure it can be done, but not without a lot of fabricating.

I believe that before the 449/511 era the hubs were typically standard across the range but don't know about those bikes.
I put a 510 motard wheel set on a 610 with no issues. Only the brake calliper is different on these bikes.

Sorry this doesn't answer your question.
