  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Keep the info coming Norm, i am living vicariously through you. hope your wife gets better soon.

- Sent the stuff to Fran today so it should be there soon. had a nice chat with him.

Coffee, please delete this thread. It's giving me WR125 envy. Guess I need to go riding because I'm happy with my 450, really.

Another little niggle..... My Gaerne SG10's hinge catch the left frame guard and pop it out of the swingarm pivot hole.

Kelly, I'm sure you'll be riding the wheels off yours when you get it and I'll be living vicariously through you! PM's sent.

Another installment..... I took some time and modified the OFG guards by moving the top cross brace back. It now threads through the louvers, which I needed to trim for them to fit. The result is much better turning lock to lock. I rode the same type of off camber today and it was like night and day compared to yesterday. I threw the bike at some steeper hills(all with abrupt off camber turns to start) and with the 13/52 gearing it's great. The bike just goes up no drama. Also, in typical Husky break in style, the engine just gets better with each ride. When I get warmer weather and dial the baseline jetting, this thing is going to be sweet!

Keep us posted Norm!

I finally got around to doing a little work on my little one.:D
Fit a pretty nice pair of Mark 2 Pivot Pegz
Put on some Guards from Motosportz. And a Carb filter from 7602 Racing all went well.
but I did have to add a 4mm spacer to the Rad guards to make them work.
The Rads on the WR-125 are a bit bigger then on my TE-510 leaving the bottoms a bit unprotected. Hope that won't be an issue.

Kelly You gotta get going on a Skid plate......Please.

Looks nice, let's see some full bike shots of than thing

- Rotate that front guard back so it butts up agains the caliper carrier.

- Hoping my 09 125 gets here soon to start on the skid plate.

First Ride

I said I won't ride my bikes til I could put my boot on again.:D
Well it only hurt a little:eek:, and I'm sure once I hear the sound of the little two stroker I won't be think'n of my ankle much.
Most of the hills around here still have to much snow on them and even more in the bush. So I went for a "modified" (Slow and no standing) run in a wide open area where things were already dried out.
First impression... this ain't no 510 or trials bike. Kinda a class by itself.
You can get pretty lazy riding a Trials bike around, hell you can leave it in 4th gear all day and really never shift and go anywhere, not fast might you but not to many places 3rd or 4th gear won't conquer.
The 510...lots of bike there going up any hill...if you want to go faster just turn your right hand more till she goes over backwards.
This little 125 (Which I've never owned before) will take some getting use to. I'm sure once I can start pin'n this little puppy, It will be a whole new ball game. For now I'm a "Happy Camper" who will be learning what a clutch is used for. I do love it.

Just a nice reminder why I love riding so much.

DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT**************************************** :banghead:

STOP posting pics of this little beast! Every time I look at the '09 WR 125, I think I need to add it to the stable.

STOPPITT**************************************** ;)

I may buy one and tag it just to ride around the neighborhood and annoy the hell out of the anonymous neighbor that keeps calling the cops whenever I crank a bike in my driveway.

That is a SWEET bike Huskydude! :notworthy:

Real good pics dave :notworthy: ****************************************!!! I was hoping to be the first with real outdoor pics....

I cant say I slip the clutch too much on my 06 CR(if at all) its really abrupt.. more like an on off switch...its better keeping an eye on the terrain and anticipating when you can open the throttle...and keep it open .....you'll adapt in no time

riding conditions look pretty good (at that spot anyway)...wish I was there ...we still have tons of snow here and minus 10c today...when is it going to end:banghead:

hope you didnt go deer rustling after the photo shoot....:D:D

real good stuff ******************************************************************************** thanks bro !!

The 125 airbox is the most open Husky one I've ever seen! It had been quite dry for a short spell and I was riding in a lot of dry leaves in the woods. I was suprised at all the little leaf crap in the airbox. I couldn't imagine the water in a really wet run. I took duct tape and tried to seal the front up as you could stick your fingers in the gap between the tank and top of airbox and practically touch the throttle cable. I may try to add some plastic or rubber strips in place of the duct tape. Does anyone have any pics of Scott Summers airbox mods?

Scott Summers does of course............what a silly question Norm........BAHHH HAA HAA.............:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'm off to P3 tomorrow so they can use my bike for molds to do pipe guard and skid plate. We'll keep talking about plastic fuel tank. I'm hoping new pipe will be the same shape with upgraded welds and just a little different stinger angle to get it under shock reservoir.

I would be into a plastic tank before I went with a C/F or metal one.

Maybe you should hold off a bit Norm they might be dressing the issue of the pipe being so low to the ground.....:D
Well a guy can dream can't he??
