  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 09 125 WR/CR jetting thread

bytheway, there's a carburettor "power kit" available from husqvarna:
8000H0791

it offers a new needle, idle jets, and main jets.

We are using carb "power kit" 8000H0052 which was supplied with North America spec bikes to replace stock jetting.

that's basically the same kit (it's actually the euro-3-open-version kit).

Hold the phone. After reading Kas's post and thinking about how my bike runs I'm 99% sure the power vale is way off on my bike. No matter where I changed my jetting it always ran basically the same, good bottom, huge bog, ripping top end. I believe the power valve is the culprit not the carb or jetting.

WE NEED AN ANSWER AND PARTS FROM HUSQVARNA TO MAKE THESE RUN RIGHT.

Yep.

Unfortunately the kit seems unobtainable right now. My first ride was on nearly flat ground thought it was a jetting issue. My second was are very steep stuff and it is obvious my bike needs the power valve fix ASAP. Nearly unridable in high load conditions and will not pull the next gear.

bought a new bike, need it to run right.

Husky?

Klas...If I may ask....having run the new parts.....what can we expect..?????

is the exhaust different.....and what about the silencer...???

Big thanks for browsing this thread...and chiming in

Hi again

The new pipe and silencer have a new position around the rear shock.

There was a problem with some grinding to the nitrogen canister.

You can expect a bike that runs great, after swithing to the new parts.

No jettingproblems at all.

I thought these were the same motors as the 2008 CR's? Do the power valves have different part numbers? I understand the carburetor and pipe is different. Just trying to toss out ideas.

Had a few minutes of time so I ripped the pipe off and took the power valve cover off. Simple 5 minute job. Power valve looks OK, moves and seems right.

- Also I must note during all this fun I went through 2.5 gallons of fuel in 45 miles. 18 MPG

Funny Mike. When I get my new powervalves I'll treat you to a show of the rear end of the mighty WR125. :D

Got any bites on that yet? Sure is nice. I'll have the WR sorted for you by the time you get one.

Well I think we can safely eliminate the carb. Installed an older style TMX off a WR250. The 04 WR250 and my new 04 CR125 (back in 04/05) had the exact same carb, slide, jets, needle etc. They were interchangeable. Weird I know but true. So I installed the carb with WR250 jetting but with the ability to try many different needles. As initially installed it ran about the same, seemed slightly better maybe. Tried several needles. Went from to lean (bog) to to rich (blubbery) and still had a huge hole in the mid range. Top and bottom ran about the same.

It's not the carb.

2 carb, 10 needles, several slides and lots of rips up the hill by my house and no joy.

Mike had a WR250 and TC250 before so he is in the fold

Make that 2 WR250's and one TC250

I talked to Bill the other day and he has a WR125 he is leaving in the crate as the updated parts are not there yet. Sounds like there is more than one dealer in the same boat.

Any Husky rider can be forgiven a temporary lapse of judgement!:busted:

My understanding is that there are NO kits for ANY dealers at this time. Bills and Taskys are top volume sellers and i would think would be one of the first to get them. there are some meetings and resolutions happening tomorrow and We will see if there is a date of something for a resolution then.
