  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Any '09 125/144/165 owners out there who have installed a Lectron, what throttle cable are you using? My stock cable is about 1/4" too long with both the throttle housing and carb adjuster all the way out.

Hey Matt!

I installed mine with the stock cable and like yours it is adjusted all the way out. I have wondered if it is costing me power at the top end but I have not pulled it apart to verify that the slide is going all the way to the top.

I need to bug Kelly about a new cable.

Later,

You can always tie a not in a cable that is to long just above where it hooks in the slide. I, no thats crude but works well !

I installed the KTM 250 2 stroke cable by Motion Pro and it fits great, also Walter gave me this idea is too zip tie the cable at the head stay mount and it helps the cable from pulling away from the carb in which none of us wants that to happen.

Well it turns out Motion Pro has a "stock" cable for the 09 125 that has a 10mm longer housing which should be just what I'm looking for. Will report back once it shows up.

The Motion Pro KTM250 cable has a bout a half inch less cable and about 2 or 3 inches of housing which I think works perfectly for my 09 WR165,I use FLEXX BARS and now have just the wright amount of cable and they cost about 15.00 dollars.
