  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

08 TE510 Low Miles(?) Flat spot, cough, popping

AA Class
Hey all, total newb to Husky here. 08 TE510, 900 miles. Previous owner has what I think is all documented service papers that he handed over to me with the purchase. I rode it very little prior to purchase, and put maybe 30 miles on it since, some trail, some around town. Tonight I noticed a flat spot with some popping at steady throttle position only- the bike runs like a bat out of hell otherwise but this has me slightly concerned- should I be? I have a 2007 YZ450F and when carb gets dirty it pops on decel. Does anyone have any experience with similar issue on their bike? What will be process of finding the issue here.

Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any advice/help.

Brock

Most likely your cough, popping and flat spot is from a lean fuel mixture in that area. As long as you have no air leaks between the air filter and the engine you will probaly need to tune it with ibeat or some other fuel tuning program.

I too get misses and popping at around 7k RPM when accelerating slowly or holding rpm. 08 TE450 1100 miles. Generally accelerates well. I just fixed the dislodged fuel pump problem (thanks to this forum) and had thought it was related. What should I check before I seek out a computer? TIA!

FI is picky about staying clean. I use Techron concentrate frequently and my bike runs great.

Husqvarna -Low fat and zero carbs.
