  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Someone was asking...steering damper with large tank. Here it is.

The stabilizer is a GPR v4 and the tank is an IMS.

BTW the ProBends Reed bars work PERFECTLY with Cycra handguards...no drilling...no bending...just works. My friend commented they don't match the bike... I want to ride not go to a fashion show.

They seem to be a hard to find combo. My first cut at this was using a "natural clear" IMS tank which had a serious fitment issue. I gave up after 3 hours of trying to fudge it on. It still looked like crap. Thanks to the people at
justgastanks.com....they took the ill-fitting tank back and refunded my money. A couple of calls and some sleuthing led me to believe the black tanks fit better...I could be stupid or crazy or whatever...I got a black tank...1/2 an hour later...it's on and running.

Lastly...check your bolts**************************************** The right-side bolt that holds the top subframe was just plain gone...I'm gonna blue loktite all of those mothers.

sweet setup. just looking at the GPR4 on Motostrano. It was listed for $479. Where did you get yours? GPR has them listed for $425 on their site. Also got a set of Cycra handguards but had to drill out the handle bars to get them to fit. I felt guilty the whole time I was drilling. Had this bad feeling I was doing something wrong. Better than the alternative, busted my clutch master cylinder the first day I had it. Rushed over to Cycle Gear and bought the Cycra handguards, but wrong size I guess. was headed out camping for Memorial day and wanted to put them on, so I drilled the bars :-(

I bought mine from GP Motorcycles here in San Diego. They're buddies with the folks from GPR. Do a little reading on the GPR...it's not the same as a Scotts. I'd buy it directly from GPR..they're really nice guys...I met them at Long Beach MCY show last year...they encouraged me to stop bending their shit by NOT CRASHING anymore...pfft...like that's gonna happen.:busted:

I also didn't like the rise on the stock bars...the new bars encourage me to keep my elbows up. I need all the help I can get.

Nice setup. I have the clear IMS on mine 08 TE510 and no issue fitment. BRP triple clamps, Scott damper and HDB handguards is on the way.

hey 1kstep: What model GPRV4 did you get? The PRO bar or the FAT bar?

I believe it's the fat bar. It didn't say on the pack. Call GPR, they'll tell you in two seconds.
