As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Yep checked that as well.I know you said you tested the coil- but did you ever check/clean the coil connections?
Once upon a time my bike acted simular (like it had a revlimiter at 6000 rpm and would stall alot but intermittant)- it was due to loose and dirty coil ground (bolts to frame)
If you list your state, or area, maybe someone will have iBeat near you.
I agree, in fact I started a thread asking if anyone had one near me with no response. But just in case I'm located in Greensboro, NC 30min south of the VA line. I also have family in Charlotte and can bring it along if anyone is closer to there. If you list your state, or area, maybe someone will have iBeat near you.
Yes, Lambda removed, PU plug in place and intake boot looks great. I'm working on getting a Ibeat to set it up. I believe I need the Lambda plug in to make adjustments on the 08, which I dont have. Ill have to source one of those. Im going to play with the JD this morning to see If It makes any difference. With the JD on recommended settings, the bike feels the same as with it off..Thought it would make at least a little difference?.. I think I need to start a JD setting database post to see what everyone is setting them to.I am really leaning towards TPS adjustment still. (can't say its not it till its eliminated as a factor) Sorry help is not closer to you ;(
Just to be sure...
the O2 (lambda sensor) is removed from the mid pipe/plug is in its place and the "power up plug" is inserted into the electrical connector?
Throttle body intake manifold (rubber boots) are in good connection and sealing properly.

I know where my black stuff came from. Silicone sealant used to fix a leak where the pump base meets the tank. I think I put too much on and some of it oozed into the tank and the gas dissolved it and clogged up the fuel filter. Bad thing is I didn't realize it until after I put the fuel pump back on and used RTV to seal it again. I will probably take it back off and use something else to seal it. Any suggestions on what to use?Yes, black stuff in the filter has been reported. Maybe some tanks were dirtier with this stuff than others. I had one instance of sputtering and attributed it to some bad gas or water in the gas (what the dealer thought was likely the cause).
Nevermind. Now bike won't even start now. WTF! I'm pretty sure I didn't put the filter on backwards but stranger things have happened. Anything else that would cause it not to start after replacing fuel filter? Starts for a second and then dies.I know where my black stuff came from. Nope it's still on there . I sent you a message about the fuel filter. After servicing the fuel pump pod, I put it back in, and the hose on the filter popped off on the first prime, no start after that. Need to pull it out again and have a look.
?? Post #2 in that link says you have to attach the lambda sensor to make adjustments, (not tps)unless I'm reading it wrong?(Don't need lambda to adjust TPS or richen mixture). Maybe I'm wrong here...http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/08-te510-ibeat-settings.26184/. HVUK IS dealer.
Lambda is narrow band to keep mix lean for emissions
