  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Remember seeing something about Up-Tite offering a Power up kit, possibly, and/or dealers being able to order the parts that make up the kit. Does anyone else remember this or does anyone know the part #'s? My dealer gave me a price of $2800.00 for a whole new top end, because the old power up kit isn't available anymore. Any help is appreciated!

The kit was an Arrow Exhaust (much lighter than stock and less restricted), the Lambda plug and by-pass. The rest of powering up is removing the throttle stop and possibly settings via iBeat software.

Cost was $300-$400 IIRC. Most of the cost is the Arrow. http://www.motostrano.com/arhu510ex20.html

I'm not sure why the dealer would give you a quote on a new top end as having anything to do with powering up the bike.??????????
 
you can pm me , i am in rockaway just off of rt 80 , i have the power up kit on my 08 450 .

call central jersey cycle , they have the kits , and also have ibeat to adjust the maps also .

That doesn't make any sense.

Most dealers in the US were out of PU kits for months on back orders for the 08's. Husky shipped a huge amount of them not too terrible long ago with the arrow's. Try calling- Taksys, Hall's, Motoxotica ect. I already had mine by this time, but Motoxoctica quoted me a good price.
