• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

08 IMS tanks shipping?

You got me all wrong, I'm just an innocent child of god that posted a legitimate question.

Do'oh, now I've brought religion into the IMS tank thread. Prepare for thread lockdown.
:D

Yah, and if you are anything like your avitar on TT you are just another hippi jokester. Gotta love it eh Cheech.

Installed my tank, but it's not wanting to sit down on the frame right. If I pull the rubber post washers off it sit pretty nice, but with them in it sits up a little and the rear bumpers don't touch and there's a gap above the left rad wing.

Anybody else seeing anything like this?

Not real surprising, after market tanks rarely fix right unfortunately.

With the 06 & 07 610 5 gallon tanks from IMS, a few had problems with them fitting right, solution was to position where it belongs & let it sit overnight, or in the sun IIRC. after a few hours it just slipped into place. Might be worth a try

I'll fill it with fuel and haul it off to the races Sunday morning and it will just have to get over it, because we're going racing!

Just received a tank and first off all I can say is I hope you guys that are installing them have throughly cleaned the inside out before using them.

I put my hand in the fuel pump hole and rubbed around and pulled out all kinds of little plastic particles that would clog a filter in no time in addition to what felt like some type of lubricant on the plastic used for the mold.

I think Les told me he used mild soap (dish soap) and water.

If you put on graphics prior to fueling the tank and warm/cool the tank - they will stick better. Cleaning the outside of the tank well will help in this regard as well.

We have a set of '08 oem graphics and Les is thinking he can trim/shape them to look good. Still hoping for a nice set of graphics for this tank that are perforated for better "stiction".

Try contacting PC, they did the ones Sumers uses on the new IMS tank and they have holes.

Thanks for the heads up, mine's on the way and I may have forgotten to check it in all the excitement.:D

Did you look at the warning in black on top of the RR instructions. Clean before installing. Man we (men) get so excited we forget to read the instruction "busted" funny.

I did not install mine yet nor have I even opened the small package that contains the instructions and cap.

Thought I'd mention it since most that have documented the install process with photos and step by step instructions here and on TT never mentioned cleaning it first.
