  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

07 TE510 Exhaust Question

J-train

Husqvarna
AA Class
I switched my stock exhaust to a Leo FS Titanium exhaust that I got oof ebay in great shape for a great price. Bike runs great with it, although a little bit loud. The bad thing is I get a ton of popping on decel, sound like I have a definate exhaust leak. I used quite a bit of copper RTV on the joints but I did notice that the header pipes mate to the head with no exhaust port gaskets. My sportbikes that I have owned had a brass or graphite ring gasket. Am I missing something on my Husky? Was I supposed to have gaskets in the header pipes?

Cool, I did not see any when I removed the stock exhaust and the new pipe did not have any, however I still think it may be not sealing great at the ports. More ultra copper might be in store

Mu Guzzi farts etc with the baffle out due to reduced back pressure. Is there a baffle to go in. If so it may help, also some bikes perform better off the bottom through to mid revs with baffles in. So for trail riding it might be ok to increase the back pressure a tad.
Can also mean she is running a tad rich and might be worthwhile leaning out a touch.

Not sure about a baffle, the can is a race can and is strait through. Leo does offer a bolt in screen type spark arestor, that was removed by the previous owner who used the exhaust on a SM. I have been meaning to purchase a new one from Leo, that may help, but it is pretty damn anoying.
