  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

07 Airbox problem

Husqvarna
AA Class
I went to clean the air filter and noticed that the wire loom is splitting the airbox apart due to it resting on the outer box cover. Has anyone else seen this and what would you recommend to fix this other than buying a new one.

Oh well...Halls had all my parts in stock. Talk about a poopy day....start with this and then get a call on my day off to tell me I don't work there anymore.

Wouldn't you know that as soon as I got off the phone ordering parts...my manager calls. :banghead:

Does anyone know if there needs (should) be some sealant between the rubber boot and the aribox? It looks like HSQ only used black rtv between the rubber boot and the airfilter mounting plate. It seems like the would make sense because that would be the main area of concern.

Dang! Sorry to hear of your really crummy day. :( I hope it picks back up for you real quick.

I have an '08 and haven't seen an '07 hands on, but mine has no rvt in the air box area.

You could to make it more water and dust tight by doing that, but this connection doesn't have air flow. Make sure you redo rtv between the mounting plate and rubber intake boot.

I"ve had to rebuild my airbox on my 07 at least three times. Husky rubber parts suck.

Thanks for the input. I hate to admit that this was the first time tearing the airbox apart. I will need to start scheduling this as part of my annual look over.

I am proud to say that I still blown away with the quality of my Husqvarna. I finally have her paid off. My wife was asking what bike I am going to get next....I am tempted by the wr300 but I still like to terrorize the street.
