  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

125-200cc 06 Wr125 Redo - Done

Okay, just about ready to order plastics/graphics. We tossed out the 10 or 11 in mold plastics with the graphics. Fender (White) Number Plate (White) Lower Radiator Covers (Black) Upper Tank Covers (Black) Side Number Plates (White) Rear Fender (White)

The seat we have is black, grey center, with red stitching.

With the bling, I want to use the 09 graphics or the ones below I found in Germany, Race Styles Hot Lines:

Oneal, trying to get this bike wrapped up in the next couple of weeks. There are some parts on back order that should ship any day. One being the engine gasket/sealing ring set. Little things like this keep holding me up. Rims are in Wisconsin getting done, they should ship any day. One radiator is getting it's leak fixed. What probably is going to happen, everything will hit at the same time.

Just ordered the Hot Line graphics from Germany. I know I didn't post anything this weekend. I finished polishing the spokes for the front rim and had to help my son pull his transfer case on his truck, to fix a leak.

Rims are due this week, I hope to lace them for you this weekend, mount the Motoz tires, get what I can assembled on the engine. I pick all the plastics up Friday night from UFO (Close to me). So maybe I can get some done on a rolling chassis?

I also am posting the base coat and clear coat paint I used on the cylinder and hubs. The paint and clear runs about $22 a quart and is already premixed to spray. I also use a quart of their Lacquer thinner to clean the prevail sprayer out between red, black and clear use.

The primer I use is SEM black self etching.

Walt,

When you open the box on friday with my 144 Cyl and Head that is going on my 09. Don't get any ideas! I polished the head (Still needs some fine scratch removal) and also shot the cylinder, like the one I did for the 06 above. Thanx for your help!

When you have it re-nikasilled they put it in a cleaning bath that will remove any paint on the cylinder. Just an FYI. It is going to rip when you get it back together. Razornpc if he rode it then wouldn't recognize the motor. He would swear you had it bumped to 167.

I bet it will after you get done doing your magic. Glad you brought that up about the cylinder :eek:. Hey got some parts! White number plate, black fork protectors, and some bolts. I think I have fallen into a new middle age crisis called: No Parts for old farts! It's like a box of Lucky Charms, don't know what you'll get till ya get to the bottom!

Finally making some more progress. I got the rims back last night. I went ahead and laced them today. I taped one of my rulers to the swing arm and also the forks to true them. I did them from side to side and up and down. Was a pain but I made it.

I ran up to UFO Plastics last night and picked up our plastic kit. Great guys and most of them were in Toledo, Ohio racing the arena cross.

I mounted my chain slider and also the red chain rollers I order from Moose Racing.

Whoops, almost forgot one! I painted the rear master cylinder with John Deere Blitz Black Paint and got it all cleaned and mounted with the rear caliper.

Nice guy, been doing this for quite some time and he even laces them if need be.

He also gave me a pointer. Take your tires and put them in the oven @ 150 degrees. Just long enough till they are hot. Use foaming windex around the bead. They slide on with no tire irons. He said you can also put them in front of one of these garage heaters, at a safe distance.
