I have a 05 TC 250 I've been riding for most of the summer. Before I bought that bike I shopped around and was really looking for a TE 250. Nothing was available in my area at the time so I just bought the TC so I wouldn't waste the riding season waiting for the "perfect" bike.
Then just last week I came across a deal on a 06 TE 250 with a blown engine. The rod, piston, cylinder, head are all bad on it. So basically it's toast.
Now I would love to have both the 6 speed transmission and kick start from the TE engine. But I'm not too sure how interchangeable all this stuff is between years.
So here are me questions
Will the top end (from the rod up) of my 05 TC fit on the lower end of the 06 TE?
or
Will the 6 speed transmission for the TE fit in the case of my TC?
or
Should I just put the TC engine as is into the TE frame and be happy I can ride on the street now?
