• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

00 TE610 left kicker Wiring diagram and ignition design

Hi, hoping someone can help me out.

My bike devloped a problem yesterday while being stored momentarily in the garage....

Basically the spark disappeared, so ive started trying to fault it. I have searched high and low for the wiring diagram for this bike but i cant find anything on the internet. Does anyone have a link to the correct manual stored online or have a local copy they could send me?

Also, the bike has been wired so that it does not require a key in the ignition, looking at the wiring i can see no obvious non factory wiring, anyone care to have a guess at how this has been acheived?

and the final problem is that i normally wouldnt have a problem faulting a CDI ignition however the husky use some strange system that appears not to use a pulse generator, instead it appears to have 2 ignition windings on the stator instead of the normal one. i did read somewhere that it was a low and high speed winding, however i cant fingure out how that would actually work so could any clarify how it actually works?

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Dan

Hi.

Did you have any luck with wiring diargrams? I have a 1996 TE610 that I'm trying to get running and the previous owner has turned the wiring into a birds nest. I have the manual you can get online but I can't read the wire colours and so can't work out where everything goes.

Most important is where the wires from the generator go to and how they connect to the CDi unit. I have an SEM ignition on mine so its the earlier type.

Many thanks.
