I'll ride but not sure when it is ... I've had time off the bike this week and it has been raining ...
hehehehe.....hectic social calendar of my 5 and 8 yr old girls and have a POPs still kicking around so.....if I can squeak in a ride early Saturday morning.....that be my plan. Sunday will be reserved to getting a tank through the cottage boat and encouraging the old guy to get on the skiis....me...a given
FUNKY CHICKEN tomorrow in Elkton Oregon one of the best courses anywhere it should be perfect conditions .
Rode both days with my son. He was waiting on parts for his KDX so I let him ride my Husky CR144. He was skeptical as he rode my TE310 the week before and was not a fan. Well he took to the 144 in a heartbeat. By the end of the first day, he was wanting to buy my 144! The little Husky had just enough chug to it for the technical parts of the trail and plenty of juice when the trail opened up. The 144 kit with the fmf fatty and Lectron carb are a lethal combo. He blasted me so hard in one section I had to stop and clear my goggles. Best Father's Day ever!
Sounds good and I'm not too surprised on your son and that 310 ...I'm basing that off the fact that riders here, not the track racers, but the trail guys here really like the 2t bikes ... More weight is always an issue on a 4T and these guys are not blasted as much with advertising about the 4t bikes. -- When out and tied a couple trails together via a twisty ~1 mile a creek bed...Ended up at one of my favorite spots and along the backside of the creek, it was actually a little isolated
Actually he had issues with the engine braking of the thumper. His lack of exposure to thumpers is my doing. Until I got the 310, I rode YZ250s for years. He has been riding a KDX200 and a GasGas300 the last few years. With that said, the Husky tiddlers handle amazing and my suspension guy nailed the setting on my forks. Here is a pix of him on the 144.
Not husky related but still a great weekend. On Saturday, 6/14 I had the chance to spent Saturday with my oldest in his new location of Emporium Pa. Loads of gravel/clay/dirt/two track roads through state forest lands that are open year round. Up valleys following streams, on ridges following mountain tops and just some other stupid fun stuff. Somehow we were gone 14 hours and did 244 miles...but you know how that works. He has his DRZ400 and I had my new to me '03 KLR650. I know somewhat a pig, but two wheels and a big single thumper...can't go wrong. Especially bone stock, 1 owner, 8000 miles for $2,600. It was a good time and looking forward to more...
