Hey guys, i have recently bought a CR250. I don't know what year it is. I found the VIN which has 10 digits, it says 5*050857* . Can anyone help me identify this bike.

1995 seems pretty accurate. I have read that the showa fork was only used from 1994 to 1996 so that limits it. Are there any differences between 94, 95 and 96?

94 and 95 are quite different, frame was updated and the plastic does not interchange, yours has plastic and graphics of a 95
the Showa forks were first used in 92

Oh really thats good to know. I already tried to find pictures of the different model years but there are not many available on google. Is the 95 and 96 plastic the same? And any chance i can find out the exact year with the vin?

95 Showa forks are 43 mm the 92-94 are 45 mm. The 93 & 94 have externally adjustable preload .

The 96 forks would be 45mm conventional marzocchi magnum forks.

Okay i just measured the forks, they are 45mm. They habe adjustable preload. So that narrows it down to 93 & 94? With everyone saying the plastics look like 95 would it be safe to assume it is a 94?

It has brembo brakes. I found a dealer now that confirmed via the vin that it is indeed a 1995.
