I just saw a TE 410 for sale that has over 4000 miles. Is that a lot for motor? I was not sure of what kind of milage you could get out of one before you have to do a rebuild. It has a dual sport kit on it and looks like it has been taken care of.

    That's a good question.
I am afraid I can't help you, as I am in a similar position (newbie, 2000 TE410 4300 miles) but I sure would like some solid info/advice on service intervals and the like.
I also wonder how long they can go if they are being riden very sedately (like an "adventure bike" - say - a hundred and something miles a day, no racing)

You can expect to get 3500-5000 miles. I had about 5500 before it went boom. That was a combination of racing and trail riding.

I had one I racked up 10,000 miles and then sold it and the next guy rode it a bunch as well. Keep your oil clean and your air filter as well and it will go a long time.
