As in the pics thread, I removed the keyed ignition switch and mounted a toggle switch on my nav tower instead. I also rerouted the seat release cable so I can pop it without using the key My boy (only 3) was fiddling with the foot pegs yesterday and as a result I spotted that they were loose. Removed the bolts on the right hand side, cleaned them up and refitted them, no problem. Removed one bolt on the left hand side peg, the other snapped off leaving next to nothing to work with. Lots of drilling, hammering swearing and sweating later, I had enough of the bolt removed that I could chase the hole with my 8mm tap and cut and clean the threads. I've replaced the bolts with some nice stainless steel ones, hopefully that should do the trick. Finally, I installed some pressure release valves on the fork legs. The little screws were getting chewed up as they are right underneath the bracket for my hand-guards and were difficult to get at. What have you done to your bike today?
Put a new Vee Rubber GNCC rear tire on. Installed an ARC shorty clutch lever. Installed a new rear sprocket... Aaand rode the ol 1990 RT180 I rebuilt for my girlfriend. Cosmetically its still a work in progress but mechanically its almost all new. Completely rebuilt motor, powdercoated frame, exhaust, and swingarm, new wheel/steering/swingarm bearings. Grips, chain, handle bars, rebuilt forks...etc
Added Ironman 14/52 sprockets set, welded in autotune bung onto megabomb header and mirror polished the swing arm.
Not only do I hang it from the ceiling, I play Lionel Richie's "Dancin on the Ceiling" while Im doing it View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdQDXs75Ulo I'm thinking about putting some shoulder pads in all of my shirts.
-Stripped the bike down to check all the wiring. Found 3 partailly frayed wires, removed the hack job wiring the PO installed and re-installed it...the right way! -Cleaned all the connectors and added dielectric grease to each one...turns out it fixed the neutral switch blinking too! -Notched the clutch cable bracket -Bled the brakes (probably need a front brake rebuild. BTW, anyone know where to get that?) -Installed a Uni breather filter on the tranny/engine breather Finally, I took it for a rip!!
LOL...Not really...That's exactly what it is! I actually thought about buying a cigar and using the tube as a forming base for doing exactly that ^^^ But, as it turns out, the county road department will be buying me a bunch of new bits and pieces to replace the crash-damaged parts.
Opened shed, looked at bike, realised I am in need of chain and sprockets, oil and filter, front tyre, checked wallet, closed shed, will come back next month.
After i took off the OEM exhaust and mount the FMF Q4 i also needed to change the rear spring from 6.4 to 6.0 It is now mountet, and i will test it in the dirt this weekend. Perfect colour to
