After 3 hours of flogging the CR 125 at the practice track yesterday, my son informed me that he no longer has any interest in racing the CRF 250R. It's completely understandable from my perspective after watching him ride both bikes. It's obvious that he's infinitely faster and more confident on the CR 125. He rode the Honda for a total of about 20 minutes before having his revelation. The Honda sat for the remainder of the day while the CR 125 was hammered mercilessly for about 3 hours.

Thankfully, I'm bonding quite nicely with the WR 300 as I'm convinced I'll never be allowed to ride the CR again! :)

I like your son already :busted:

As much fun as 250F MX'ers are, they cant hold a candle to the good running 125. Fun factor is off the damn charts!

Too many kids these days want a 250F cause their favorite rider races one or because they're the dominant breed these days. My hats off to your son for having an open mind and deciding what is best for him and not picking the flavor of the month.

I feel bad for kids that have never ridden a 2 stroke in their lives. You learn skills on a 80 or 125cc bike that cannot be taught elsewhere.

I'm still in lust over Kelly's 04' that I rode a few weeks ago. It was seriously so much fun that I cant shake the thought!
