Not trying to expand the scope of this site, at all.

But a place to talk about other bike brands has been requested for years, and instead of the discussions being in General where everyone looks at them, thought the other bike brand discussions could go in here so the people who do not want to look at them can avoid them.

    Sherco, gas gas, whatever.

I have an almost completely original 1979 Bultaco Alpina 250 sitting under cover in my shop. I bought it new, and had a great time with it. It has been owned by each of the four of my original riding group, and came back into my possesion a few years ago… Started to do a trail worthy restore to see if I still enjoyed it, if so then a full restore was the plan. Truth be told though, before starting the money drain, I rode it around the yard a bit, spent somewhere about $400 on it from Hugh's Bultaco [different name now] put it together and haven't even started it again. Enjoy the modern bike too much. First thing I did back in '79 was pull the metal fenders and lights off, put them in a box and replace them with Preston Petty Mudders which are still on the bike. It sat in storage for 20 years and after cleaning the tank and carb and dumping a little gas down the plug hole, it fired right up and ran well. The aforementioned box was discarded after a few moves. Hear that sound in the background? Me kicking myself whenever I think of it...
