Does anyone know the overall length for the rear fender on the 70-71 sportsman/enduro? I purchased a new set of steel fenders and the rear needs shortened. How far down from rear most part of frame does it go and where should the taillight bracket be placed? Same for front, where should the fender be placed exactly? No originals to reference and no holes drilled in new ones yet. I can eyeball it if need be, I'm just curious if there is even a standard.

Is it me or does the tail end of the frame seem to bend down on that bike? Mine is straight from the point it meets the front section of frame to the taillight.

Sorry if that came across rude, I wasn't trying to be offensive. It was just an observation and that is a beautiful bike.

The bike pictured above is a 72-73 RT (Road Trail).

The Sportsman below was restored by Vintage Husky. I would trust its an accurate representation of what the Sportsman looks like.

This is a few years old, so I'm way late to the party Dan, but I have a maroon tank Sportsman same as yours. It's all stock, so any measurements on other items you might need, I can get them.

Question.... Where did you find steel fenders? I have two Sportsmans and a few Huskys I'm thinking of making my own Frankenstein Sportsman out of.

    Thanks!

Sorry kind of dropped off the face off the planet for a bit. Those are some beautiful bikes, very jealous. The fenders were found on eBay of all places. Don’t see them listed any longer though. Also I noticed you don’t have the chrome shock covers on yours, did you remove them or were they not there when you got the bike?

Hi Danlboon76, they were off the bike when I got it. I have a set of bells so I'll probably put them on some day. I've seen other Sportsmans without them, so I've wondered if all didn't come with them? Seems odd, but I've seen a few images over the years with other bikes missing them as well. My maroon bike is really original and unrestored, so someone removing them would be unlikely, but who knows...
