  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Premix Tables

There are products on the market such as "Ratio Rite" which help riders determine the amount of oil per gallon of gas.

A better method for determining the oil for any quantity of gas is to develop your own premix table. Your premix table will allow you to determine oil for smaller quantities of fuel (such as emergencies on longer rides) or mix up larger quantities of fuel before a ride.

Here are premix tables that I have created for reference. I created tables for the most common premix ratios. You can print out these tables for your fanny pack or garage use.

Very nice, useful for the yard equipment in the garage to. Thanks, I will print a couple

i often see oil leaking from silencer, resonator and cilinder exhaust port in 125s husky, why it's need so much oil in gas? 3%!!! isn't is to much?

I had some spooge running down the silencer at times. You need to change the silencer packing on a yearly basis at minimum. I ran 40:1 ratio in my bike and jetted the bike properly for it. The oil ratio is needed to lubricate the piston and bearings. Don't skimp on the oil ratio to prevent the dribble. It just indicates that your jetting is running rich and/or silencer packing is saturated and needs changed.

I also did a table some time ago, for the metric guys ;):

The original spreadsheet is over here in case you want to adapt it to your needs

Regards.

There's a great app on the Google Playstore (possible Apple appstore) called Gas Oil Mix, so easy to calculate those odd size premix figures!!
