I have a 1980 390 CR. Where should the vent hose coming out of the top of the oil fill cap go? The bike came with a short piece of vent hose (about 4 inches) sticking up in the air. I can't believe this is a good idea as dust and mud can easily get in. Should the hose be routed into the air cleaner box? I've looked at photos of similar bikes but there usually isn't enough detail to tell where the hose goes. Thanks.

I have the same type of hose on my 82 250 and it goes up on the left side and down on the right side and held in place by zip-ties. Normally case vents are small hoses to prevent water and other items from getting in the cases. I guess Husqvarna felt they needed an extra large hose to accomplish this. I am sure it works just fine and any water or debri would have to travel upward in the hose then make the turn at the top. I hope this helps?

Thanks. I think I'll just put a longer vent tube on and make a big loop to help keep dirt/water/mud out.
