I raced MX (strictly amateur) back in the 70s, rode a little street back in the early 80s, got married, had kids, and took a 20+ year break. A few years ago I got back into street with a 750 Monster, but also really wanted to get something to play with in the dirt. I looked around new and used, and figured out what I wanted-a 70s Husky. The trick was finding one that was in decent shape, and was street-registered so that I could ride it around a bit on the street if I wanted (don't ask me why). I found these (one is for a friend). They were tagged, and now have tags in my name. They are a 1974 250WR and a 1977 360 WR. Please be patient--I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions when I start going through these.

So, I've had these for close to 2 years. The 250 ran right for a brief time, and has been plagued by ignition problems. If I were to keep it, I'd get a powerdynamo and be done with it. The 360 has been awesome (it has a powerdynamo). I've ridden the 360 a few times with a group of guys that I know that all have modern bikes, and the 360 is great until I stall it somewhere in the woods after riding for a few hours and I'm tired. Then, its tough for me to start with the left kicker and because I'm old and 5'6." I've really enjoyed getting back into riding, and really wanted an electric start bike, so I bought a 2015 KTM 300. I've come to the conclusion that the Huskys aren't for me. They're not getting ridden, and I tinker with other stuff (boats). While the 250 has been a PIA, the 360 has given me no trouble at all. So, before I put them on CL, I thought I'd mention that they're for sale here.

They're in nice shape, and both have new renthal bars and the 250 has new Magure levers that I overpaid for. They both have new air cleaners, and the 250 has a recently installed Bing rebuild kit, points and condenser (which worked briefly and then the ignition stuff started again--see my previous posts). The 360 has a full lighting kit (see pictures) that I took off for trail riding. Their main selling point to me is that they have Maryland titles and historic tags (no inspection). I looked forever to find a 70s bike I could Maryland tag. With that, they're also pretty awful street bikes. I'm thinking $1500 for the 250, and $2750 for the 360 ($4250), or $3750 for both. I really would like to sell both to someone here that will ride them and not part them out. I'd appreciate feedback on price. Thanks.
