http://www.losancianos.com/ YEAH ! ITS ON!!! AGAIN!!! Where some of the best offroad racers in the country show up for nothing more than a super fun and challenging race and a possible plaque for the wall.
Maybe I could start training now and drag out a two stroke just to say I had the honor of competing in this event!
training??? Nah, its just a nice friendly tecate trail ride..... with a few obstacles thrown in. Really the HS formats that LA has put on have never had any brutal stuff (like the enduros of old) or some of the other masochistic tecate trail rides we've done in that RSV area. Its just a matter of doing 2 solid hours of a @ 12 mile loop for normal sportsman or 3 hours of the extended @ 15 mile loop (with some xtra technical stuff) for the Pro,A and B classes. Training?? just keep on riding every weekend in our local mtn zones, the conditions are the same. Dang 3 hours of tight single track on my TXC450....I better start training on the bicycle at least a little bit R
DD, Go green, Enduro: 03 KDX220, (Riley), Riley is the perfect companion for the usual course layout (from past experiences) Plenty of time for warm ups. this is quite a ways off (Dec) but we always have a great pit set up. And yes as Mike said this is one of the best SoCal zone races, if you crave real single track, East coast/Central US/PNW style. (For the East coasters ask Kevin Hines (2 enduro wins if memory serves) and Nate Kanney(I think he won one HS) about the Los Ancianos trail systems.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Ancianos
Riley just got a summer overhaul, fresh top end and new brakes, But Pez, the KX250 has had a trail overhaul, new tank, kickstand, flywheel and lighting, and only has two hours of riding on his motor anyway, so he's not even broken in yet. I actually had him in mind for this event.
