When I raced my 250 on the ice at Lake George people were amased that Huskie still made bikes. Many people mentioned they had a Huskie back in the day. I'd love a FC 450 for the ice and a bunch of my friends have bought new 2 smokers, hate the forks tho.

Yeah, but you gotta admit the new bikes are as sexy as dirt bikes get. I wish you could buy the new ones for the same money you could get the old ones. If you were a little studious and spent some time at it you could usually find a great deal on a Husky. I'm afraid those days are gone. I'm just happy to see the brand go on.

Have to disagree think modern bikes are ugly as sin, 86 era high exhaust metal tanks.. Sex on wheels plastics are for advertising space, support the independant rider who wants belray n style malbrough stickers plasterd over a beautifully designed machine not me!

not really..everyone has different opinions of what a sexy bike is i guess..the new husky color scheme is cool but thats certainly nothing new. im not really a fan of the newest plastic styles. personally i like the looks of the early 90s hoosks the best. pure function and very graceful.

to me the seats were a hell of a lot more comfortable on the 80s and 90s bikes. especially my 88. that seat is boss!

Yeah old seats are proper sponge, but to me modern suspension looks too high i like the horizontal swing arm and the exhaust that burns your crotch. The flat seat all finish it off nicly no jaunty angles like its trying to twerk but flowing lines that make it look like its going 100mph stood still.

My 86 husky had a plastic tank, and yes I bought it new that way.

In 1983/1984 I was still dreaming about owning a husky while going to college.

HEY! thats my old bike and pic. Glad you liked it :>) Was a good bike i got for ridiculously cheap.

another thing missing from new bikes is all the cools stuff they used to come with which this bike did.

    - Big comfy low seat
    - preload adjustable Showa forks
    - Zerks on all the linkage and swingarms
    - Factory spark arrestor
    - Real grab handles
    - Real wide ratio 6 speed
    - Big well integrated factory tank

Bikes cost more and we get less.

i really dont get why the stuff you mentioned isnt on new bikes. i think if new bikes had more that kind of attitude i would not cling to my older stuff. especially the tank/seat thing

cost, weight, they don't care you'll buy it anyway and they will pocket the savings not giving it to you. Unfortunately I really feel this is spec sheet issues cuz everyone looks to see the weight not what you get for it. Then they buy the lightest bike and go and add 15 pounds of aftermarket crap to them.

The fmx grab handles under seat have my mates attention so useful you dont realise how good we husky owners have it.

I think that bike even had the double wall pipe. It was heavy but indestructible and very quiet. They did seem to care a lot more about real world things back then more than a spec sheet.

yeah my friend is always going crazy about that sheet spec stuff but hes always surprised how like the swedes were for their time. does 10-15 lbs make that much difference? the new four strokes still arent lighter than old 8os swedes like the 400 you had

it probably did, my 95 pipe had to weigh 20 lbs. durable tho, as it had a bunch of very very shallow dents that would probably be big dents on a normal pipe
