In looking at pictures, it appears remote ohlins were mounted such that the hose coming from the left shock pointed down. The right side pointed up. Here is a pic I copied from another thread:

On the ML frames, like my '78, the top shock mounts were different and do not appear to allow the shock to be mounted with hose pointing down. If I can clear the pipe, any problem with having hose pointed up? Anyone have pics of remotes mounted on ML frames?

Doesnt the left bottle mount horizontal under the seat?

It should, but the pipe can pose a problem. On the right side, you also have to deal with the airbox flap. My solution is that I cut two 6 inch sections of pipe and screwed them to the underside of the frame where the front of the seat attaches. Then I clamped the remote and rubber buffer to that pipe. Its tight, but it works. To be clear, the bike above is not my bike, just a reference picture.

The picture you have there is an 'MM' frame. Right reservoir under seat, left on frame as pictured. The ML framed bikes came as standard with Girling shocks, but you could also specify Ohlins. These were usually the piggy back ones. You will have to figure out mounting points for the remotes (usually somewhere on the rear frame tubes).

I have a 1980 with MN frame. The factory mounting is as shown in the picture but I felt it was a bit busy with the kick lever and carb being so close so I turned the top of the shock around so the hose came out the back and mounted the reservoir under the seat.

I had to do some work with a heat gun and some snips

to get the mudguard to work...

Not a bad fit. Nice job with the plastic.

There were remote reservoir Ohlins on the 78 OR frame I got. The reservoirs were hose clamped to the bottom of the seat front mount plate.

Thanks jimspac, that is where I am putting them. Reservoirs can only ppoint one way on the ML frames.
