Gear lever issue

    Hi
    Some help please. I am new to to Husky,s
    I have just purchased a new gear shift leaver and I cant seem to get it to go on the spline all the way.
    I have tried to wiggle and giggel and tap it but it only goes on half way.
    Any trick to this?

    You did take the bolt all the way out and not just loosen it right?
