    I use type F auto trans fluid. You should do a search on this. Oil threads go on forever. In a few days you will be :banghead:

    ATF is better for the clutch and transmission anyway. Don't even bother with the links to the oil threads. They will only make your head spin

    The RECCOMENDED oil for the 86 400 as requested....(from the husky service bulletin) is Bel Ray 85 wt oil ( a light gearbox oil Bel Ray produced) 1.4 litres will do it.

    and 85wt gear is the same viscosity as a heavier 30 wt engine oil.
