Anyone out there with a wr250/300 from 06-13 care to take a pic and give dimensions for the fuel tank hold down? #8 in the pic - described as a spacer part # 8B00A0702. I'm also willing to buy a used one of anyone has it on the cheap.

I'll likely breakdown and buy one, but I've spent too much money recently. The lathe and bar stock are already paid for. :)

I'm updating my plated '94 wxe360 to 2012 wr300 plastics and later radiators before a trip to big bend at the end of January.

    Thanks in advance!

i thought you needed a 95 or newer to accept the newer plastic

Between the lathe, mill, a few random cutting tools, and a welder, I am fairly confident it is going to fit. I know the radiators and fuel tank will need new mounts, but until everything gets here next week sometime, I can't say how much fab will be required. Considering the subframes are the same -96, the attaching points should be the same there. I did stumble upon a guy that updated a 94 to 2000-04 plastics, and I've seen 2000 go to post 2005. I have not seen anyone go to 2012 from pre-1995. I'll soon have a big pile of parts including all the plastics, rads, hoses, tank, airbox, and seat sitting here. I'm waiting for all that before I mount the rads so I can make sure everything fits right on top.

If I didn't already have the bike plated, I would just find a later bike and go with that, but it was quite a process getting a bonded title and getting tags a few years ago. BTW, the DMV values the bike at $5. The DMV lady called me before processing the paperwork because she didn't think I would want to spend the money on the bond. The guy doing the bond was laughing and said he would have to tell people about the $15 (or whatever it was) bond. He didn't even charge me his regular rate simply because the bond was so low.

    Besides, I like a project.
