I was at ZipTy HQ yesterday and saw a pile of these being fabricated! In case you forgot, here's the lowdown on the DGTT.

One should never "re-invent the wheel", but that doesn't mean we shouldn't invent new ways of putting tires on those wheels. Let's face it, changing tires is not a chore that anyone looks forward to doing. Here at ZipTy, we change a lot of tires. And we are always finding better and easier ways to accomplish this task. After inventing what is now the common motorcycle tire tool on the market, we decided to take our next system a step further. Our leap forward is the DGTT. There are no complicated cams, levers or twisting parts to be assembled. The DGTT is designed to be simple, minimal and heavy duty. This is a race quality tool, 100% made in the USA.

    • Makes changing tires fast and fun
    • Will not damage spokes like other systems
    • Simple bead breaker works like magic
    • Makes impossible mousse installs easy
    • Includes floor stand and trailer hitch mount
    • All axle spacers included
    • Bead lock wedge tool included
    • Heat treated for strength, built to last
    • Powder coated finish
    • Works with 14" -21" wheels
    • Easy to adjust
    • Portable

Just in case you were wondering, I don't just try to sell ZipTy Racing products, I use them too. Just got done turning my DS tire around and installing a new tube. The DGTT makes this job a piece of cake. Now its time to throw this on the 449 and go ride. Next project is to inspect, stuff and re soap the mousses on the race bike. 20161203_104838.jpg

Tires, tires,tires...Man am I tired! Just got done spooning on the last of the new shoes for the bikes. It's been spread throughout the long holiday weekend. A Pirelli Scorpion for the rear on the 449, an MX51 on the rear of the old reliable IT, and Golden Tyre fatty up front with a mousse, and finally a GoldenTyres Rocky on the 250 also with a mousse. I think I'm really starting to get the hang of the DGTT to make these jobs easier.

If you don't have your own tire changer, I think you should seriously consider a DGTT for your home garage. Paired with the extra long ZiptyRacing.com tire irons it makes the tough job of a mousse in a new rear tire much easier.

We (NCM.net and I) partnered and bought a DGTT, for my local sponsor shop National City Motorcycles. So the tool is set up for use in a local business as well (industrial quality tool).

This came about because they would call me in to do the occasional mousse installs that they would get from customers.

I was very pleased that I had watched the RN production of Ty mounting up a new tire with a mousse using the DGTT. Kept telling myself "use the handle to help suck in the bead to keep from breaking the last bit of the bead going toward the rim lock" Worked a treat as they say.

    Thanks for posting that video.
I keep waiting to see a video of one of these style changers working on either a tube or tubliss set up.
Seems like they work great on a mousse, but how well on standard set ups?

The DGTT works great for tube installs. In my tire mounting marathon I did two tube tires. The Pirelli was a very stiff tire and didn't pinch the tube. The IT has 2 rim locks and once I figured out the method to deal with getting it started it was a basic job. I don't have any experience with Tubeless, but have no doubt it will do the job.

The best features are adjustability for different wheel diamaters, the multi-function rim lock/wheel lock tool, and of course, the handle and claw assembly. I haven't plugged it into a hitch yet, but having that ability makes it really cool.

So, you may think you've seen this design before. But did those impostors include a floor mount AND a hitch mount? Heck no!

    GOT DGTT?
