CR390 1980 small end shims?

    Hello!

    I'm restoring a CR390 from 1980, previously it had no shims either side of the small-end bearing, but I see that they're supposed to be there from the parts fiche.

    I too have a conrod, which is 1mm more narrow, so would need wider shims.

    You can use the wider 430 bearing if you are using a new later piston. The newer pistons have a more narrow dim
    across the journals. But the old Mahle is much wider.

    That is not going to keep the axial play in line though, thats the issue.

    Yes it does, the 430 does not use these shims and please note on these - these are spacers on the and not thrust washers as used on the 250s Measure
    across the width on old and new stule pistons. Compare to the 430
