I didnt make it to the race last weekend so the details are sketchy. Cold spring days, intense wind on Saturday and lots of new forays through the rattlesnake infested prairie terrain (but rattlesnakes dont move when its cold, so no big deal) Mark took the BMP/Watson Suspension TXC310R to 2nd both days. On Saturday he once again did battle with big bore KTM mounted Chuck W and once again came up just a bit short....maybe we shoulda used the 511 as there are lots of fast stretches out there on the wind blown prairie. Sunday was a different story, Mark had no problem handling the field, even passing the winner twice.... That happens when you take ill timed soil samples (or in this case rock samples). Mark lost the lead both times he went over the bars and wasnt able to regain it the second time. I guess you cant win them all. This was the first race weekend with the FMF full system mounted and remapped with 'open pipe' settings. It is very fast now. Mark says throttle control is a bit tricky with this setup and a map switch might be handy; I say put on a fatter rear tire to minimize the wheelspin Next up; the legendary China Hat ISDE the last weekend of April. Mark will be riding in the 40Ex class with the youngsters so he can do the full course.

Mr Tully should be able to jump ahead after the next 2 day event as it is in his backyard and others wont contest there since the series only counts the best 8 events. Then back to the desert for 2 races, which is Marks home territory.

Is that WoodsChuck that used to ride Honda? Is so i have ridden with that guy. He rides with a real fast crew up in Seattle area. Nice guy and yes, fast. Good job
Chuck is from Albany, formerly Nevada. His kid is a rapidly developing AA rider and apparently Chuck is practicing with him because he has gotten quite fast in the last year.
Im waiting for you to correct me on the bike. Guys on the OMRA board were talking about the Husky that passed them...good to hear it was you
The 55 year old guy wanted to get up to Starvation Ridge earlier to ride the 50 AM class in the morning but my riding buddies had to sleep in. As a result, I had to ride the the 40 AM class. Of course my trusty WR/CR250 did all the heavy work and I just tried to hang on for 2 hours and 54 minutes. Almost past-out (seriously) when I got off my bike and had to lay down for 15 minutes. But, overall it was a great day and a lot of fun. And best of all, I got out of bed all by myself today!
