How about porting the transfer ports to the size of the case using the base gasket as a template? Lots of wasted space with the orginal transfer ports blocked off and not being full size. It’s all free breathing.

Btw, good looking weld job there.

So, the bike that the 400 Aircooled engine is going in is nearly ready! (I know, it needs a Black seat cover)!!!

Waiting for some porting tools to arrive and to build the motor. That should keep me in the garage this weekend!

    Yes, Lovely aren't they

I know some people don't like them - but I do

The trouble is the new gold ones just don't look right either....

I will change the Ohlins canisters to Gold and then I think she will look splendid - with a 'gripper' black seat cover too.

Does anyone know what shims should be in the shim stacks in the shocks for a 430/82 - or will I have to guess??? The Ohlins I have are NOS, but really over-damped.

I think I will have this bike on the stand at the Telford Show in February, along with NEW 510 / twinshock special Husky frames and new 4t heads and cylinders...

Andy, im sure you know but the insides of the 82 ohlins are very different to the insides of the 83 ITC type !
i used the internals from the ITC's in the 82 bronze ohlins.
needs a bit of machining but ive heard that you're ok with 'a flat file'

Robin @ Falcons is handy with the ITC shim's, size, thickness, number etc

Is there a 400 kit to do the conversion? Cylinder? Does the 430 head fit? The standard 390/430 piston fit
    L I assume this fits a 430 bottom end?

I remember being far from the trailer on the pipeline in mass. The youngster who rode with us had a sprocket like that. It’s one of thos new variable ratio sprockets right? We made it up some big hills there I could hear the sprocket changing ratios all the way, the kid made it to the trailer. I sweated on that ride. Onetime we passed a bear on that trail. I always kept my bike in top condition to ride the pipeline. This isn’t a short ride. The hills are vertical in some areas.

It is always nice to hear when we get it right!!!
