The Magura hydraulic clutch conversion certainly does make for a very light and predictable clutch, I rode this animal twice today and can honestly say that this is the shit! As mentioned earlier, it is not period correct but wow, what a difference it is to my 400 which I rode back to back. Detail pics to follow.

I bought a Chinese hydro setup of a thumpster or something .
Looked the same as that setup but.
It came up short in the travel and ended up leaking at the seal around that thin rod.
Went back to the cable cause i couldn't justify the around $200 bucks for a real one.

Maybe worth revisiting, they are now $55AUD, but a Magura would be much better!

    Hi,

I have these two coming in the post, $32.58 U.S for both, my mate Mike and I are going to see if

we can fit it to his XT600,

I bought this slave cylinder because it came with a hose with the correct 90 degree end for the

    master cylinder end.

I found another slave cylinder with adjustment on the end of the rod, if the first slave cylinder

doesn't work we will try this one,

I am probably still looking at another 1 - 2 weeks before I get them, I will post the outcome.

    :)

I measured the clutch cable outer at 1200mm so I assume you would need that length hose like the one you linked to for use on a LC Husky. .

    Hi,

Yes 1.2 meters, I figure we can easily shorten the hose if needed.

Like Dukkman said, I hope there is going to be enough travel in the slave cylinder.

It is worth a try because at the moment I have about $40 Aus. into it and even with another slave cylinder,

that is only about $55 Aus.

When the parts turn up I will keep you all posted of the outcome.

Hi Dukkman, try using Automatic transmission fluid instead of brake fluid in the master cylinder.

    :)

I should begin by saying that I am very interested in building one of these, blown up four strokes are plentiful and cheap, and I was amazed at how well this package works!
The hydraulic clutch is a Magura and has a stroke of 10mm, I measured an old clutch cable at 1200mm and it has a cable joiner attaching the slave cylinder via a short length of cable.
It works brilliantly with slight clutch drag, lever effort is much less than the cable setup though.
I've seen some on eBay with a slave cylinder stroke of 15mm, which may eliminate the drag assuming the rest of the clutch is set up properly.

    Hi,

" The cable joiner attaching the slave cylinder via a short length of cable ".

Did this come off the pit bike?

Do you have a link for the slave cylinder with a 15 mm stroke, if we need it?

    :)

No, this is a Magura kit adapted to this application.
I'll dig out the link to the Chinese kit with the 15mm stroke.

    Hi,

    Thanks for that.

I just measured the travel on the clutch arm of my 570,

it looks to be about 12mm.

I found this works pretty good for making a clutch pull easier. :D

He has answered confirming the stroke on his 1200mm kits as 15mm. I might try one at $55.

Probably a good idea since I've strayed from the original question.
