I am hoping someone tell me length of the ohlins shocks for the 1982 250WR or 430WR. Also if anyone can provide the letters and numbers stamped in the body just below the top eye. Lastly the over all length of the bottom eye?

I lost my cheat sheet for all the Husky Ohlins and kind of lost without it.

    Thank you,
    Marty

    Thank you,
My shocks look to be correct for my 82 430WR. They both have the number HA9721 stamped into them. The extended length is 430mm eye to eye. Is that the correct length for the WR? Just seams a bit long.

Ok great. I figured out why the shock length did not seam correct. Someone had installed a 81 WR swing arm. I looked through my stash and found the correct 82 WR swing. Thank you very much for all the help!!

Hi. I am re-building an '82 WR250 and with the rear Ohlins fitted, there is very little clearance between the lower part of the shock and the swingarm.
I measured 40 mm from the centre of the lower mounting bolt to the upper face of that same part. Does that lower part come in different lengths? How much clearance should be there?
    Thanks

Yes those lower eyelets are available in many lengths. In the stock fitment the spring collar is only a couple mm away from the swingarm, and if the rubber eyelet bushing is worn (almost always) it might be touching. You will typically find used bikes have the paint chipped away there. There is an updated bushing available from Ohlins USA and some of the Husky shops that is much more durable.

If you replace the lower eye, use one that will accept a 'Heim' joint. It makes a huge difference to the shock. Andy at HVA Factory stocks them in many lengths. I think he also has the joints and top hat washers with o-rings. This way there is no rubber bushing to fail.
