• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

7602 Case savers for 610!

Sorry, only pics I have are of the proto pieces, and those are different enough to not be relevant.

Hmm...

Do you have any updated photos of the pieces as they actually look now?

The pic above is of the final production version. I just don't have any pics of a final production version mounted on a 610 as I had to return the 610 I was using before the production versions came back. I've been sending a bunch of these out, so hopefully a CH member will post pics when they get theirs.

I will! I will! I'll take two, please!

Now, what'd I do with that phone number??

mine arrived today (looks great!)

i will post some pics when i put it on tonight.

couldnt wait... slight problem though, i raised the shifter height up one notch and it hits the bottom of the case saver on the upshift. didnt like it in the stock position so im not sure what i will do.

Bummer there's an issue with it, but man it looks good!

Mine came yesterday but I haven't opened the box yet...now I can't wait to do it tomorrow!!

I knew I shoulda got a red one...:(

bummer indeed as it does look good. there looks to be plenty of 'tail' on the saver that could be trimmed back a bit to give it some more room. it would be a shame to grind into such a nice piece though.:(

yes, don't you know red goes faster :D

well i put the shifter back to stock just for a looksee and it seems it will still hit the bottom of the case saver (just) when shifting up from first only. after that it seems to be clear. it will still engage so it might be ok. i have no idea why the first shift is higher than the others.

i think i will take it off and grind it down:(. a shame to butcher such an otherwise pretty bit of gear but it seems the only option:(.

i would love to hear if others are having the same experience.

cheers

Nope, sorry the hydro clutch on the 630 gets in the way. Our oil filter cover fits the 630 though.
the only good thing about the clutch slave location is that it's outside the plane of the chain - and though the case might take a good hit from a flying chain....the clutch slave is out of harm's way.

A sprocket cover to replace the plastic piece would be cool...

That is a good thing. It's not that way on the 250 x-lite engines. In the direct line of fire. Horrible design decision I think.

Eric installed our case savers yesterday. He said his shifter, which has not been moved from stock position, kisses the bottom of the case saver ever so slightly on the cheek but doesn't prevent him from shifting normally. I figure in time the problem will solve itself. Haven't tried it on mine yet, but my shifter has been moved up one notch to accomodate crappy range of motion in my ankle. Maybe I'll ask him to ride mine down the stree today just to see. They sure look good, as do the red anodized oil screen covers

If you want to swap your case savers out for the shorter version, which won't come close to the shifter let me know. We'll get you changed over no charge. Even let you switch to red if you like. Glad you're happy with the oil screen bolt.

I would like to order one of your case savers ASAP. I'm sure by now you have the size/fit corrected. Please let me know how you would like to proceed. I think I will also do the oil filter cover to even out the color on both sides. Both in red please!
