I am trying to bring a 76 250WR (2051) back to life after sitting for years and the transmission is in need of repair. I have access to an 83 bottom end that has a good tranny but I am not sure if it will work on my 76. Does anyone know if the gears etc. are the same on the WRs from different year models?
    Thanks

The 76 trans is only compatible with other trans starting in 75 when the magnesium cases were first used on the new generation GP bikes 250's - 390's, and the compatibility ran through 79. Only some trans parts are compatible with the previous generation models sold in 75, i.e. the MK frame.
