I dunno, that year is the epitome of Ro-jay. Kinda burned into my brain..

hell, that number, that year, that bike, his wife screwing Barry Sheene... that's the year I last saw him race (*IIRC*). First time was '71. I just can't believe that cable routing- as NCSteve said, the Gunnar Gasser was adapted pretty quick (I thought by '77?).

I did get to talk to him again at the '91 San Jose SX in the stands (!)- still a great guy. American MX owes him a big thanks.

First time I saw RD him and a couple of other "iron men" were drinking a beer between motos. I remember my dad chuckling and saying "I like those guys." Next couple of races I drank some of my dads Oly between motos, but decided it wasn't for me.
