FE/FC 2016 FC450 Battery upgrade, sub frame mod

    So the on going battle to start these damn bikes in the cold continues. In Wisconsin its April 9th and still 15*F at night, mid 30s during the day. I had enough of the 2016 FC450 tiny battery and dropped in a battery form my 2017 FX450, little bit wider and deeper. Below are some photos of the cutting and modification needed. Trim both sides and drop it in. It does fit with the stock seat and does not look like there will be any long term issues. I may make a custom hold down strap for it but for now a spacer and the stock one works fine.

    Probably a stupid idea but with your extreme temps maybe just throw a heated blanket over it or buy a bike cover and put your tire warmers inside. Sorry, not a real solution to your problem

    Yeah a nice heated 4wd sprinter van would solve all the issues. Soon Enough.........
